I was creeped out by her turtlenecks. I couldn’t focus on anything else once I noticed she was wearing them in every shot, they went to chin and never ever moved as if they were glued in place.

There isn’t anything special about it. Has a few laughs and a happy ending. Good for a Sunday watch when it gets to satellite or Netflix. Not worth a cinema visit.

She doesn’t act like a slob but she falls down a lot and her weight is the payoff for some of the jokes.

So far “Spy” is McCarthy’s peak. It was inventive, she was physical in a good way in it and her razor sharp wit was on full display. “Boss” is a step backwards for her. Most of the jokes fall flat or don’t go far enough, even though she looks to have lost considerable weight she resorts to prat falls for a laugh and the third act finale doesn’t work at all.
